Emotional Management. In school we learn behavior and thinking skills, but we are not always taught how to manage intense emotion. Therapy can help grow emotional management skills. These skills are useful with many issues, including depression, anxiety, anger, stress, impulse control and trauma.
Transition. Changes in phase-of-life, career, relationships and health can be important rites of passage, but may be experienced as isolating, alienating, or disillusioning. Processing the impact these changes have on our identity increases our coping skills, and opens us to new possibilities.
Self-destructive Behavior. Resolving conflicting emotions underlying self-destructive behavior, along with using concrete strategies to replace problematic behaviors with more productive solutions can can lead to a greater sense of mastery, empowerment, self-love and self-respect.
Grief. Loss is a part of life. The grieving process takes many different forms, but it's root is commonly deep attachment and love. Attending sensitively to your grieving process can open the door to healing and greater love.
Birth and Parenthood. Birth, adoption and child-rearing is a roller coaster of ever-changing scenarios and challenges. Connecting to your core values and inspired self in therapy can help you integrate birth and adoption experiences, and weather the hard work of caring for kids.
